About this release
After an extended summer break, GotA is back and we proudly present: Cognac VAUDON Lot 75/78/80, the new fruit essence by GotA!
The history of the renowned Domaine Vaudon started in 1771 when Francois Gaborit inhertited his Mérignac domain and vineyards to his stepson, Pierre Nalbert who evolved and grew the domain and laid the foundations for it’s current success. The first 25hl still was installed in the 20th century, at the same time as most of today’s Fin Bois vineyards were planted by Pierre Mousset, while the second Still was later installed by Bernard Vaudon. Today, the domain is led by the magnificent Anne-Marie Vaudon and Pierre Vaudon.
The absolute speciality of their work is that they concentrate their aromas 10 times during distillation in their Charentais stills, also called ‘à repasse’.
Well, you will definitely find this very result in our new release: An exuberant mythology of fruit!
Be brave like Perseus once was and set off on the hunt for Medusa at the end of September!
Tasting Notes
On the nose, a heart note composition of ripe apples, sicilian oranges and pears, mirabelles and apricots tantalises the senses! Top notes of Moroccan mint and jasmin blossom create a Mediterranean freshness, while fine cedarwood and sandalwood notes provide depth and sensuality as the final base note.
The palate is a crystalline, dense fruit concentrate of stone fruit and fine precious wood notes! Splashes of citrus fruits with their wonderful acidity ensure a great drinking flow. The velvety, oily texture coats everything, leaving the palate for a long, mystical departure.
