About this release
When we taste cask samples in the GotA team, we have luckily a similar taste most of the time. Sometimes though, it can be frustrating because everybody has different favorites and nobody wants to compromise (which is good!). With Chateau de Laubade it was exactly that, which caused some veeeery heated discussions about which cask to choose.
Luckily, cask #90 came along and suddenly we had a clear favorite with 4 of 4 votes! Actually, it rocked so much, that we immediately thought of a certain rum style of Barbados! 😉
We are all big rum lovers and are always happy when we find something unusual and divers to present to the Armagnac community. It’s been a while that we have selected an Armagnac, which just screams “Rum” and would definitely pass most blind tests. This is definitely one of the most unusual Armagnac we have tasted so far! It’s dominated by an amazing mix of fruit, smoked honey and that certain “rockley flavor”.
Thank you to Château de Laubade, especially to Denis, François, Isaac and Emilie for your patience and collaboration for this unique cask!
